Mission

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
– Carl Rogers

There are two forces within every person. One force moves towards change, flourishing, and self-actualization. The other force, developed from painful experiences, seeks safety and familiarity. The balance between these two forces results in unconscious patterns of behavior that largely determine a person’s current relationships, level of success and quality of life. By working together, we can examine the unconscious forces in your life, allowing them to become accessible for change.

The tools of modern psychiatry are amazingly effective in relieving symptoms of mental illness.  If used correctly, these tools can help support the inner forces of self-actualization; if used incorrectly, they can collude with defensive behavior and result in a perpetual cycle of symptom control and over-medicalization. The mission of this practice is to examine the roots of your current symptoms, apply psychiatric tools appropriately, and support the inner force helping you to become your true embodied self and obtain the life you deserve.
